Tiny Roots

Where Little Seeds — Grow Big Roots

Have you ever dreamed of your child growing up—or going to school—on a farm?
A place where muddy boots are badges of honor, where curiosity leads the way, and every day is a new adventure under the open sky?

Welcome to Tiny Roots—a nature-based preschool where wonder grows wild. Set on a charming urban homestead tucked among trees and natural playscapes, Tiny Roots invites children to explore, discover, and connect deeply with the rhythms of the earth.

With over an acre of open-ended play space, friendly farm animals, thriving gardens, and endless opportunities for hands-on learning, we offer a childhood rooted in simplicity, imagination, and the magic of the natural world.

At Tiny Roots, children don’t just go to school—they grow here.

What We Offer

At Tiny Roots, our mission is to nurture the whole child through meaningful, hands-on experiences that honor the rhythms of nature, the joy of play, and the beauty of simplicity. We believe early childhood should be a time of wonder, exploration, and genuine connection—free from screens and full of purpose.

Tiny Roots was born from both a deep love for children and a growing concern about the direction of modern education. As a homeschooling parent, I longed for more—more freedom, more joy, and a deeper connection to nature. I knew other families felt the same.

Our goal is to create a nurturing, enriching environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive as their authentic selves. Drawing inspiration from Montessori and Reggio Emilia approaches, and grounded in natural living, our program fosters confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of learning.

Whether we're feeding goats, harvesting from the garden, or enjoying homemade snacks we've prepared together, Tiny Roots is more than a school—it's a homegrown community where childhood is celebrated the way it should be.

I’m the founder and passionate educator behind Tiny Roots Daycare & Preschool—a homestead-based, nature-rich early learning program in Sparks, Nevada. With over 15 years of hands-on experience across a variety of educational settings, I’m deeply committed to childhood development and holistic learning.

Throughout my journey, I’ve seen the importance of nurturing the whole child—intellectually, emotionally, and socially. As both an educator and a parent, I’ve felt the limitations of conventional early childhood programs. My own decision to homeschool my children stemmed from a desire for a more meaningful and connected learning experience—one that ultimately inspired the creation of Tiny Roots Daycare & Preschool for families seeking the same.
